The Art of Handcrafted Stop Motion

Unlike 3D CGI or flat 2D animation, stop motion captures the real. Every frame is a photograph. Every character or prop is made and manipulated by hand. The result is a handcrafted look that communicates emotion, quality and authenticity – perfect for brands who want to show care and craft.
It’s also versatile. At A+C, we create with multiple stop motion animation techniques, everything from papercraft explainers to claymation character pieces, to bold, graphic tabletop ads. - Creative development
We work with your existing script or help you to develop one from scratch – aligning tone, format, budget and creative ambition. - Pre-production
We storyboard, design characters and sets, then fabricate everything in our model-making workshop. - Production
We shoot on-site using Dragonframe and motion-control rigs, in one of our 10–15 stop-motion units. Everything is lit, rigged and managed in-house. - Post-production
Compositing, editing, voice, sound design, VFX and grade are all handled by our in-house team.
Delivery
We master for all platforms: broadcast, YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, OOH and e-commerce. We’ll also cut stills and social assets to maximise ROI.
Our UK studio
Postgate Stage is the South East’s only hybrid stop-motion studio. Located in Margate, 90 minutes from London, it’s our home, and it’s available to hire for your next stop motion or live-action production.
With 5,000 sq ft of space, we can run 15+ animation units simultaneously or build full-scale commercial sets. The studio includes:
