Produced in collaboration with creative agency DUDE Milan for Canva Italy, ‘CanvaWild Design’ is a charming, beautifully crafted stop-motion commercial that proves design really is accessible to everyone. The campaign tackles this message through a delightfully unconventional lens—the perspective of a tech-savvy Italian pigeon named Picci1.
While his feathered peers fight over scraps, Picci1 spots a local Trattoria struggling to attract customers due to its outdated branding. Taking matters into his own wings, he uses Canva’s intuitive platform to completely revamp the restaurant’s visual identity. The transformation is an overnight success, turning the empty eatery into a bustling hotspot, which ultimately means a thriving business for the owner, and a bounty of fresh breadcrumbs for the pigeon flock.
This meticulously handmade film was brought to life in-house at our Postgate Stage, Margate over an intensive week-long shoot. Directed by Dan Richards, the production featured a miniature world populated by 14 human characters, 4 bespoke pigeons, and a vast quantity of tiny breadcrumbs. Choosing traditional stop-motion animation was a deliberate nod to the campaign’s core message: a frame-by-frame celebration of the love, care, and artistry that goes into great design.
